Tuscora Park In Ohio
Tuscora Park is a must-visit family day-trip in Ohio with kiddee rides, concerts, concessions, and one of the only true carousels left in the world.
Imagine amusement parks of the days of old. Small neighborhood parks with swimming, rides, junk food, and beautiful surroundings, these places are the forefathers of the Cedar Points and Disneylands of the world. Unfortunately, the new parks have killed off their ancestors.
In New Philadelphia, Ohio, just south of Canton on I-77, one of these parks still thrives. For a quarter on weekdays and fifty cents on weekends, visitors can ride any of the rides including a ferris wheel, small roller coaster, swings, train, kiddee rides, and one of the last true carousels left in the world. The swimming complex houses a large pool, diving pool, and wading pool for the little ones. Playgrounds surrounded by picnic tables and large shade trees are everywhere. Feed the ducks and practice your fishing in the pond: they bite easy, but you're not allowed to keep them.
For the sports enthusiasists, there are basketball courts, tennis courts, Class A baseball games, a walking track, hourseshoe pits, and bocce arenas.
If you are travelling on I-77 through Tuscarawas County, then I highly suggest taking a break at Tuscora Park.
