Turkey Run State Park is located along State Road 47 southwest of Crawfordsville in West Central Indiana. It offers many geological marvels, deep sandstone ravines, scenic forests and lovely views along the Sugar Creek. The massive sandstone gorges were formed over the past 300 to 600 million years. At one time glacial ice covered the northern portion of the park. As the ice melted, debris from the melting ice was deposited and formed stones of many shapes and sizes that were ground against the sandstone to form the scenic canyons and gorges.

The Miami Indians once walked the trails that still exist in the park today. Early pioneers left traces of their heritage here as well. The Lusk Home and Mill that were built around the 1830s are reminders of early enterprises in the area. There is a large log church across a concrete bridge and near the Inn that was originally built in 1923. Non-denominational services are still conducted during warmer months on Sundays at 10am. The Colonel Richard Lieber Cabin commemorates the contributions of the man who founded the Indiana State Park System.

Hiking, fishing, tennis, picnic areas, swimming, cultural arts programs, a saddle barn, a nature center, a planetarium, playgrounds, and an outdoor swimming pool are among the park's many activities and facilities.

Turkey Run Inn was constructed in 1919 of Mansfield sandstone from nearby Mansfield, Indiana and is the same material that forms many of Turkey Run's cliffs. In earlier years, excursion trains from Chicago would bring curious travelers to the Inn for holidays. Today, the Inn has been renovated to offer modern facilities in a rustic setting. The main lodge has 61 rooms, a full service dining room, an indoor pool, gift shop, game room, video rentals, vending machines, and satellite TV. It also has meeting and conference facilities available for groups of 15 to 400. There are 21 family cabins available as well. The camping facilities include 235 Class A sites, and 18 Class B sites. Camping reservations can be made for Class A sites only. Campers can easily access a camping store and dumping facility too.
