No trip to Maui is complete without snorkeling and scuba diving. Anyone who loves the water will truly get a kick out of looking out underneath the sea and view amazing tropical fish and flora. Here is a list of the best places to snorkel and scuba on Maui.

• Mokuleia Bay. This bay provides some of the clearest waters and most beautiful underwater sights for beginners. It’s also known as "Slaughterhouse," but don’t worry it’s a gentle location. As always for snorkeling and scuba diving, it’s best to enter the water in the center of a bay, where there are fewer currents.
• Napili Bay. This location usually provides very good and safe waters for which you can snorkel and scuba.
• Honolua Bay. This is a good spot for beginners mainly because it is near a major maritime center. It’s on the western tip of Maui and is home to the Marine Life Conservation District.
• Nahuna Point. This is an excellent spot for scuba divers. There are some nice underwater caves there you can explore. Nahuna is near ailea and Makena.
• Lanai Cathedrals. This is another great scuba diving location. Years ago the USS Bluegill, a Navy ship, sunk here. You can go underwater to see this ship at an angle you’ve perhaps never seen a ship before.
• Wainapanapa State Park. This is a good location for snorkelers and scuba divers alike. This is on the windward side of the island and can provide an excellent opportunity to get a first-hand taste of underwater Hawaiian life.
• Olowalu. This site is a good spot near Kaanapali. It’s typically very gentle, and thus, a great spot for beginners. There’s also lots of great stuff to see underwater here.
• West Maui. If you’re an advanced diver, you’ll want to consider going to some spots out on this end. But only if you’re an experienced diver. The great places for experienced divers here include the Seven Sacred Pools and Hana Bay.
