Natural Bridge State Resort Park is located 52 miles southeast of Lexington, Kentucky, off the Mountain Parkway on KY 11. It is located deep in the Daniel Boone National Forest near the Red River Gorge Geological Area. The natural sandstone arch for which the park is named was formed over millions of years and is a sight to behold. The Natural Bridge is 65 feet high and spans 78 feet across and features scenic high stone cliffs and arches.

The 35-room Hemlock Lodge that is nestled in the mountainside offers private balconies with spectacular views. Visitors may also stay at one of the park's 10 or so cottages. Tableware, cooking utensils and linens are available to cottage guests daily. Two campgrounds have a total of 82 camping sites with utility hookups. There are also 12 primitive campsites. Central service buildings provide showers and rest rooms for convenience to campers.

The pool complex is located between the lake and the Hemlock Lodge and it contains a stone bathhouse and an 80,000-gallon zero-depth pool that can be entered without using steps. The primary pool has directional water jets and floor bubblers and next to it there is a fenced wading pool with floor bubblers and a fountain.

Hoedown Island is also located below the Lodge and features an open-air dance patio where weekly square dances are held. The sky lift begins its ascent one-half mile from the park entrance and ends within 600 feet of the Natural Bridge. One of the park's snack bars is located near the sky lift and the other is located near the pool complex.
