Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is located in Prestonsburg, Kentucky off US 23/460 on KY 3 deep in the heart of the Appalachians. It features 1,100-acre Dewey Lake and a variety of activities from Broadway shows in the amphitheatre. Its ten miles of wilderness trails are located amid beautiful mountain vistas and vary in ability levels. This 1,498-acre park is name for Jenny Wiley who was a brave pioneer woman that survived Indian capture and rugged conditions.

Visitors may stay at the 49-room May Lodge that is surrounded by tall pine trees and beautiful mountains. The gift shop offers a large selection of souvenirs and Kentucky handcrafts. The dining room seats 224 for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Two private dining facilities are available and can accommodate up to 70 people each. The lodge pool is for exclusive use of its overnight guests.

Meeting rooms in the Wilkinson/Stumbo Conference Center are available and can hold between 500 and 800 people either theater or banquet-style.

There are 18 private cottages that offer one or two bedrooms, cooking utensils, tableware, and fresh linens daily. The 117-site campground offers utility hookups, a grocery store, and a garbage dumping station. In addition, there are two central service buildings that provide showers and rest rooms.

This park features the 1,100-acre Dewey Lake and a variety of recreational activities. There are three boat launching ramps, a boat dock with 199 slips and pontoon boat rentals. Dewey Lake offers largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie and hybrid striped bass to anglers. The park's ten miles of wilderness trails are located amid beautiful mountain vistas and vary in hiking ability levels. In 1999, a driving trail that retraces the steps of the famous pioneer Jenny Wiley was developed. An Olympic-size community pool is available to all park guests. The 9-hole regulation golf course has a fully equipped pro shop with rental carts and rental clubs available. Picnic areas and playgrounds are located throughout the park and offer tables and grills. Picnic shelters are located near the campground and sky lift. The Jenny Wiley Trail Heritage Bypass is a 154-mile loop through Eastern Kentucky. This route provides easy access to over 60 miles of recreational facilities and hiking trails that already exist.

A sky lift over Sugar Camp Mountain offers a scenic view of the park and is open daily between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. It is also open on weekends in the fall and spring with good weather. During the summer months, The Jenny Wiley Theater presents summer musicals in the park. Some of the performances have included "The Legend of Jenny Wiley," "The King and I," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," and "Trouble on the Santa Fe Trail."
