Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is located about 20 miles west of Ashland, Kentucky and consists of about 3,300 acres. The beautiful hills in the area were inspiring to lifelong resident and poet Jesse Stewart.

Visitors who stay at the 36-room Jesse Stuart Lodge will enjoy the private patios or balconies that overlook Greenbo Lake. They may also choose to relax in front of the copper-hooded fireplace in the lodge lobby or shopping in the lodge gift shop for an assortment of Kentucky handcrafts and souvenirs. The 232-seat dining room offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Kentucky cuisine and fine service. Meeting rooms are also available. The Greenup, Carter and Boyd Rooms sear up to 100 people each and the main meeting room can seat up to 300 people. The Jesse Stuart Library & Reading Room contains personal mementos and works from the famous Kentucky author and poet can also be found in the lodge.

The 63-site campground offers utility hookups, two garbage dumping stations, a grocery store, and two central service buildings that provide showers and rest rooms. There is an 18-hole miniature golf course and a picnic shelter with picnic tables, grills and a playground are located in the camping area as well.

Water sports including boating are available as well. The marina is open from April 1 to October 31 and offers 65 open slips. Rentals are available for pontoon boats, pedal boats, rowboats, canoes, and motorboats as well. Anglers will enjoy fishing for bluegill, catfish, and trout in the 225-acre Greenbo Lake which is home of two of Kentucky's record holding largemouth bass.

There are 25 miles of self-guided hiking trails that range from easy to difficult and offer exercise and enjoyment amid the beauty of the Greenbo Forest. A swimming pool is located next to the lodge for the exclusive use of lodge guests. There is also a community pool that features a water slide and children's area. It is located next to the sunning beach. No swimming is allowed in the lake at the beach area. A picnic shelter is also located near the beach area and it has nearby rest rooms. Picnic tables, grills and a playground are also there. Overnight park guests may check out equipment to be used on the park's tennis and basketball courts and bicycle rentals are also available. The park also hosts many special events throughout the year.

A privately owned, 18-hole, regulation golf course is only a 5-minute drive from the park and is open to the public.
