Rabbits are one of the easiest animals to raise. They require very little cage space and very little of your time. With a rabbit, unlike other animals, you also have a small feed bill. You can start raising rabbits with a very low investment. You can also make a little extra money with rabbits.

I have been raising rabbits for a number of years. Here are some of the things you need to know before you start. The first thing you need to do is decide what sort of pen you are going to build. I usually build mine about three feet by two feet. This is plenty of room for a single rabbit. I use scrap wood and buy a roll of wire at my local feed store to enclose it. I have my cages under a roof, so I don't have to put a solid top on each individual cage. You need to keep the bucks and the does separately, so you can control their breeding.

A rabbit requires very little feed and water. I always keep it in front of them at all times, so they can eat and drink freely. Rabbits have a short gestation period and grow out very quickly. This is where you can make yourself a few extra dollars. Here are a few things I do to make money with my rabbits.

1. I always have baby rabbits ready to sell at Easter. You will be surprised at the number you will sell during this holiday.

2. I sell a lot at flea markets. There are always people there looking for rabbits to purchase.

3. I sell my rabbits to people for food. A lot of people love to eat rabbits and it puts money into your pocket.

So whether you raise rabbits for fun or profit, I am sure you will enjoy raising them. They are fun for the whole family, everyone will enjoy them. So get yourself a couple and see for yourself. You will have fun doing it, plus you might make a little cash.
