INGREDIENTS

3/4 lb ground beef
3/4 lb ground pork
2 onions chopped
1/3 c diced green pepper
3 stalks celery diced
salt and pepper to taste
1 4-oz pkg vermicelli
1-2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 can cream of celery soup
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 c grated cheddar cheese
1 21 1/2 oz jar mushroom stems and pieces, drained

DIRECTIONS

Cook beef and pork in skillet until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Add onions, green pepper, celery, salt, and pepper; cook, stirring frequently, until vegetables are tender. Prepare vermicelli according to package directions. Mix beef mixture, vermicelli, tomatoes, soup, and worcestershire sauce; place in 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle cheese and mushrooms on top. Return to oven; bake until cheese is melted. Almonds may be added with cheese and mushrooms if desired.
