INGREDIENTS:

1 lb. ground beef
1 tablespoon Chili Powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 hot pepper
1 onion
1 sweet pepper
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
2 tablespoons cornmeal
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

Brown ground beef in a large saucepan, stirring occasionally; add onion and peppers. Cook until it loses its red color, and onion and peppers are soft. Stir in cornmeal/flour; then add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve in bowls; sprinkle with shredded cheese. Serves 4.
