Barbecued Sausage Sub Sandwich Recipe
This barbecued sausage subs are filled with fried onions and tomatoes - a delicious and healthy kids' meal.
4 barbecued large beef or pork sausages
1 tbsp. sunflower oil
3 onions, finely sliced into rings
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 small jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
12 cherry tomatoes, halved
1 tbsp. Cheddar cheese, grated
coleslaw, mixed salad and baked potatoes to serve
Heat oil in a frying pan. Add onions and cook for 15 minutes until disintegrating. Add tomatoes and cook for 15 minutes until disintegrating. Add salt, black pepper and chopped jalapeno pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.
Put sausages in hotdog buns or slice in half and lay on kaiser rolls. Top with onion tomato relish and sprinkle with cheese. Serve hot with coleslaw, mixed salad and baked potatoes.
