The quantity of ingredients depends on each person according to their taste, but for convention's sake, here is a basic recipe.

1kg cooked fish (Haddock, Snoek or Hake)
4 cooked potatoes
2 onions, finely chopped
4 tomatoes, chopped
1 Tablespoon Oil
2 cups of rice
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook the rice in salted water.

Heat the oil in a shallow pan, add the onions and fry till browned. Add the tomatoes and let the mixture simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Cube the fish and the potatoes. Add the fish and potatoes to the onion mixture, adding 1/2 cup of water. Stir well and let simmer for a further 15 minutes. Add seasoning to taste.

Serve on the rice.
