Homemade Ice Cream Recipe
Beat the summer heat by making some fruity homemade ice cream! You don't even need a machine! (Except, of course, your freezer.)
You can make this tasty treat without using a machine!
This recipe will make ice cream lovers about one-and-a-half quarts of the best-tasting ice cream that you have ever eaten! Not only that, but it will certainly help beat the summer heat!
First, you will need to gather your ingredients:
2 cups whipping cream (any brand)
1 can Eagle Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup mashed or pureed fruit
1 tbs. vanilla extract (any brand)
*A word of caution- DO NOT USE COOL WHIP IN PLACE OF THE WHIPPING CREAM.
*You may omit the fruit for a plain vanilla taste, but the fruit adds a special sweetness to the mix. And, you can use more fruit if you desire.
Next, using a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk with the vanilla. Then stir in the fruit. Now, carefully fold in the whipping cream. Finally, pour the creamy mixture into a container large enough to hold it. Cover and freeze several hours- depending on your freezer- until the treat is firm.
For those ice cream lovers who might miss hearing the hum of the freezer, or even miss cranking an old-fashioned ice cream freezer, there is good news for you! Simply add 3 cups of Half-and-Half Cream to the milk, fruit, and vanilla, then follow the freezer's operating instructions.
