2½ cups flour
¾ cup shortening
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
1¼ cups sugar
2 eggs, beaten
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup shredded coconut

Topping:

¼ cup coconut
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream shortening, sugar, salt and orange rind. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Sift flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Alternate flour mixture and orange juice to shortening mixture. Stir in coconut. Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle toppings on cookies. Bake for 15 minutes.
