Champagne Punch Recipe

1 1/2 c sugar
2 c lemon juice
2 qt sauterne, chilled
1 qt champagne, chilled
Dissolve sugar in lemon juice; pour mixture into punch bowl. Add sauterne, then pour in champagne. May garnish with lemon slices, if desired.
