Blueberry Cordial Recipe
This is a delicious alcoholic drink made with vodka or gin with a great fruity taste of blueberries. Can be served to cool off during the hot weather, or at any special occasion.
Try a homemade delicious alcoholic drink that tastes like a big ripe blueberry. This is sure to be a crowd pleaser and won't your family and friends be impressed when they find out that this unique and tasty drink was made by you!
4 cups blueberries
3 cups vodka or gin
1 cup water
8 whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
2 cups sugar
Wash and drain the blueberries. Crush them in a bowl or with a blender and scrape them into a wide mouth 2 quart mason jar. Add the vodka or gin, water, cloves, and coriander and stir.
Cover the container and let it stand for 10 days in a dark place. Stir the cordial mixture every other day. It will turn a deep, blue/black color. Strain the cordial mixture through a cheesecloth or paper coffee filter, add sugar and stir until disolved, and pour the mixture into a glass bottle. Cap or cork the bottle and store it in a cool, dark place for four weeks until the cordial is mature. Makes one quart.
