To make this truly incredible appetizer, purchase a medium-sized, round crusty bread. Hollow out the center, and keep the lid intact. Reserve the soft inside and cut into large cubes for dipping. In addition, you’ll need the following ingredients:
1 Stick of Margarine or Butter
1 Bunch of Scallions, chopped
1 Eight-ounce Bar of Cream Cheese, cut into squares
1 Sixteen-ounce Tub of Sour Cream
1 Sixteen-ounce Package of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
3 Cans of Artichoke Hearts, drained and chopped
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
On stove, melt margarine in a medium-sized pot over a low flame. Add chopped scallions and sauté them until they’re brown. Drop in cream cheese squares, sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and the mixture is well blended. Fold in the chopped artichoke pieces and remove from the stove.
Fill the hollowed bread with the cheesy artichoke mixture, but do not cover with the bread lid yet. Completely wrap the bread in two layers of aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
Remove bread from the oven and peel off the foil. Cover bread with the bread lid and serve warm. Dip is delicious when spread on reserved bread insides.
Not only is this warm, rich and cheesy dish flavorful and delicious—it looks impressive. Your guests will enjoy every bite, and they may even think you’ve become a gourmet cook.
