German Apple Nut Cake Recipe
This German apple nut cake recipe is a wonderful treat.
CAKE INGREDIENTS & DIRECTIONS
1 1/2 cup oil
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350ยบ.
Mix first 4 ingredients together. Add flour, salt, and baking soda, mixing until well blended. Fold in nuts and apples. Bake for 1 hour in greased pan.
TOPPING INGREDIENTS & DIRECTIONS
1/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix all ingredients in saucepan and boil for 5 minutes; spoon over warm cake.
