2-1/2 pounds apples
3 cups water
1-1/4 cup apple juice
1 cup honey
1 cup sugar
2-1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:

Bring apples and water to a boil in an enamel saucepan. Cook for 30 minutes. Puree and return to saucepan. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for an hour and a half, stirring every 15 minutes. Seal in mason jars and store in a cool, dark place.
